Another Successful Year of TIFF!

Okay. We may be stretching the truth on that one a little bit.

The reality was there were fewer films this year, and according to attendance records, there were fewer fans.

It seems like the Toronto Independent Film Festival has been the hotspot for distributors and filmmakers alike for decades to meet and ink deals, but our industry is still climbing out of the troubles of 2023 and only now starting to see some life again. And according to industry insiders, TIFF is still an integral part of Canadian Indie filmmaking.

And while TIFF this year wasn’t as sparkly as years before, it still saw some successes. Namely, there was a lot of talk of TIFF’s future goals, as it’s slated to use a recent $23 million cash infusion from the federal government to form a dedicated industry marketplace at the festival.
