The Okanagan Screen Awards Are Almost Here!

The Okanagan Screen Awards (OSA), a prestigious red carpet film festival celebrating local film & local
talent, returns for its highly anticipated annual edition. Organized by the Okanagan Society of
Independent Filmmaking (OSIF) and proudly sponsored by IATSE Local 891, the OSA promises a night
of cinematic brilliance and celebration of the vibrant creative community.

Showcasing the diversity of local talent, the Okanagan Screen Awards, held on March 2, 2024, at the
Kelowna Community Theatre, is more than just a film festival. It’s a platform that spans across various
genres, screening everything from Short Films and Documentaries to Commercials, Music Videos,
Wedding Videos and Fashion. This festival provides a unique opportunity for like-minded creatives to not
only showcase their work but also to network and collaborate, fostering a spirit of community within the
Okanagan Valley.

“The Okanagan Screen Awards is not just an event; it’s a celebration of the incredible talent that thrives
in our region. It’s a testament to the passion and creativity of our local filmmakers and artists,” says
Chelsea McEvoy, President of OSIF.

Kelowna’s biggest film festival brings together the best of local talent, highlighting the rich tapestry of
creativity within the Okanagan Valley. The festival will consist of multiple blocks of local film and video
screenings, including a special ‘Best of Canada’ short film block that showcases the nation’s cinematic
prowess. The pinnacle of the evening will be the awards show, where exceptional contributions to the
local film industry will be acknowledged and celebrated. The festivities will continue at the after-party
hosted at Pretty Not Bad.
