Screen Siren Pictures Inc, a busy Vancouver based media company, is producing two new feature films that are available for investment opportunity.
I Shot the Sheriff, a sexy, revisionist take on the classic Western, to be directed by Clement Virgo (Poor Boy’s Game, Lie with Me, Rude) is $9million movie starring Oscar contender Jennifer Lawrence (Winter’s Bone).Visually sensuous. Narrative heart-pounding. Its appeal: a broad, hip audience craving excitement, adventure, heroes and romance, and an iconic cinematic thrill. The director’s vision is singularly stunning in its layered and complex detail of both characterization and imaging. Set against a backdrop of the Canadian frontier of the 1860’s, the film will shock some and evoke reflection of our own tumultuous times in others.
DFilms is the Canadian distributor. The film will be released in Canada in theatres, on television, DVD and via internet.
WILL is a about a young man learning to live with Cystic Fibrosis. A brilliant and surprisingly humorous screenplay of a truly moving story, WILL is both inspiring and gut-wrenching at the same time. The story is accessible, witty, and reveals universal themes of life and death: it’s not about the number of days you have, but what you do with them. Some of the BEST Indy hits of the last 10 years have touched on similar themes, and the story’s easy-going road movie structure symbolizes the literal and metaphorical journey of its characters. After past successes like Little Miss Sunshine, TransAmerica, The Motorcycle Diaries, and Sideways, we are very excited by the potential of WILL.
E1 Entertainment is the Canadian distributor. The film will be released in Canada in theatres, on television, DVD and via internet.
We are seeking $1.3 M of private equity investment that will recoup against world sales of the movies. There is also the potential for tax deductible donations to Cystic Fibrosis charity on WILL.
The remainder of the budgets are financed by government equity, private equity and tax credits.
Both projects will shoot in the Okanagan, injecting millions of dollars into the local economy.
