Feature Film Coming to Shoot in the Okanagan in October

September 7, 2010 – Jon Summerland, Film Commissioner, Okanagan Film Commission, is pleased to announce that the feature film Pressed, is coming to shoot in Kelowna in the month of October.

Starring Luke Goss (Tekken, Hellboy 11: The Golden Army), Michael Eklund (Gunless) and Landon Liboiron (Passchendaele), Pressed is produced by Navid Soofi and Jonathan DuBois of Qube Film.

Producer Navid Soofi  comments, “The one of  a kind and diverse Kelowna locations and the knowledgeable team at the Okanagan Film Commission  made Kelowna an obvious choice for our film.  Jon Summerland, the Film Commissioner, went above and beyond our wildest imagination to accommodate our production shooting in the Kelowna area.”

Jon Summerland states, “Pressed shooting in Kelowna is the result of cultivating and sustaining relationships with key industry personnel from Canada, the US and internationally. Our on-going marketing strategies with tourism partners promoting the region, plus our continued expansion of the necessary resources is encouraging productions to come here. Pressed is the kind of result these endeavors produce.” Jon concludes, “The film Big Year, starring Steve Martin, Jack black and Owen Wilson, which filmed earlier this summer in the Okanagan, is also successfully promoting our region to film audiences and producers on a global scale.”

Pressed synopsis: When Jesse and Sam take a joyride in a stolen car one afternoon, what they discover hidden in the back seat could change their lives forever.  Brian, unknown to Jesse and Sam, is desperately trying to seek a “quick fix” business deal that will put him back on top financially after being let go from his executive position at one of the top investment firms. Brian decides to go “all in,” investing the rest of his savings into a short-term drug deal. After Jesse and Sam intercept the illicit drug money, they soon learn that they’ve stolen from the wrong people. A twisted tale of greed, deceit, murder and wealth, Pressed is an action-drama feature where three relationships collide and are tangled into a situation that could cost them their lives.
